Greetings, good gentlefolk! Gather 'round as we delve into a most perplexing mystery from the annals of New York City’s storied past! On Halloween eve, Wednesday, October 30th, from half past six to eight o'clock, join us for a thrilling virtual event based on actual events, hosted by Blackfoot Prints NYC.
At Blackfoot Prints NYC, our mission is to illuminate the unspoken and unsung experiences of Pan-African ancestors through dynamic and immersive actions in American history. We are dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of our shared past by engaging participants in authentic, experiential learning that connects them with the rich heritage of African diasporic narratives.
With a team of passionate historians, educators, and artists, Blackfoot Prints NYC specializes in creating transformative experiences that bridge the gap between history and personal engagement.
Our expertise lies in designing immersive actions that utilize a psychosomatic approach—allowing participants to learn through their bodies, their environment, and engaging activities. We leverage the power of storytelling, movement, and creativity to bring history to life, making it relevant and accessible to all.
Whether you're a history buff, a preservation enthusiast, or just looking for a way to give back to your community, there are many ways to get involved with The Black Footprints NYC. From volunteering at our events to joining our mailing list, we welcome your support and participation.
The Black Footprints NYC was founded in 2020 by Lisa Burriss, Bloodline Ambassador and native New Yorker who is a passionate historian emboldened and inspired by the "past we pass everyday!" Fascinated with the rich American history in her backyard on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Burriss saw the need to for a more comprehensive approach to historical preservation. Since then, we have worked on numerous projects to creating educational experiences on American History through a Pan African lens.
